SHELBY COUNTY --- Representatives from the  United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) were treated to a tour of the IHI Turbo America plant after a symbolic check presentation ceremony.
The Shelbyville Electric Cooperative will use money from the Rural Economic Development Loan to expand IHI Turbo America, a move that will create 21 new jobs.
The plant produces American-made turbochargers and superchargers for various marine and commercial vehicles. IHI Turbo has more than doubled its local employee base over the past three years.
