(WAND) - Verizon is offering to reimburse customers who were affected by the nationwide outage Wednesday

The New York-based carrier didn't specify what caused Wednesday's disruptions, but confirmed that the outage was resolved by 9:20 p.m. Verizon previously said it had deployed its engineering teams to address “an issue impacting wireless voice and data services.”

The outage lasted more than ten hours.

Verizon announced it will give customers a $20 account credit that can be redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app to accept.

"Yesterday, we did not meet the standard of excellence our customers expect and that we expect of ourselves," the company said in a statement.

Business customers will be contacted directly about their credits.

"If customers are still experiencing issues, we encourage them to restart their devices to reconnect to the network," the company said. "We are sorry for what you experienced and will continue to work hard day and night to provide the outstanding network and service that people expect from Verizon."
