CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Butkus Awards, recognizing the top linebackers in football, are set to make their return to Champaign, Illinois Athletics announced Wednesday.
The awards ceremony will be held Jan. 31 at the University of Illinois's Gies Memorial Stadium.
Presented to the best linebacker in high school, college and the pros, the Butkus Award was named in honor of Illinois football and Chicago Bears legend, Dick Butkus.
U of I Athletics said that Texas Tech's Jacob Rodriguez was this year's collegiate winner.
