MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) - Mt. Zion's softball field will officially bear the name of their long-time coach.

The Mt. Zion school board has approved the naming of Greg Blakey Field.

It passed by a vote of 6-0 on Tuesday.

Blakey is synonymous with Lady Braves Softball. He is the 4th winningest coach in IHSA Softball. Blakey has led Mt. Zion to State twice.

The dedication is expected to take place some time next spring.
