DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Monday! The first full week of the year is looking a little bit warmer overall. Today, temperatures will end up in the upper 40s and low 50s for the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds.
Winds will be strong out of the south for the next few days and allow warmer air to filter into the region. Temperatures will be staying steady with highs in the mid to upper 50s for the next few days.
The real changes won’t move in until later in the week with a big system arriving in the Midwest. Heavy rain and some thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning. Some storms could turn severe, but it’s still too early to tell so stay tuned for updates in the forecast.
