(WAND) - Planting season is underway across central Illinois, but so is Mother Nature's shenanigans. The three W's (Wind, Warmth, Wet Weather) have already begun, and unfortunately will get worse before waning. Â
Wind gusts topped 40 mph in a few neighborhoods earlier Thursday, and the same will take place Friday creating blowing dust as fields continue to be planted. Â
Meanwhile, additional warmth will plow across the entire state, perhaps even challenging record high temperatures. The Gulf Coast states is the source region for high humidity, so as the pressure lowers in advance of the next cold front, rain and thunderstorms will blossom. The result will be flooding for some and keeping farmers out of the fields.  Â
You should also take this opportunity to refresh your severe weather protocol. Most of the severe threat central Illinois faces will come under the cover of darkness this holiday weekend.Â
