New Year's Eve Morning Forecast

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy New Year’s Eve! If you’re preparing to ring in the new years outside, the good news is you’ll only need a good jacket.

We are starting the day with cloudy skies as temperatures warm into the upper 30s. A cold front sweeps through today, keeping us cloudy and giving a chance for light snow along I-74 and northeast, but overall, most will stay mainly dry.

By tonight, high pressure quickly moves in behind the front. This will not only help us ring in the new year with dry conditions, but also allow skies to clear overnight. Temperatures at midnight will be in the low 30s and upper 20s, but clear skies will drive temperatures into the low 20s and upper teens by tomorrow morning.

The first day of 2026 will be sunny and cold, but an incline in daytime highs begins as we head into the weekend.
