Perfect End to the Weekend; Midweek Rain Chances

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Good morning and happy Sunday!

High pressure dominating the region today will deliver a beautiful, comfortable close to the weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies with just a few passing afternoon clouds, low humidity, and a light breeze keeping things comfortable as afternoon highs peak in the upper 70s.

Clear skies and dry air tonight will allow temperatures to drop efficiently under the high. Overnight lows are expected to settle into the mid to upper 50s, making for a crisp, quiet night across the area.

As high pressure maintains its grip on Monday, we will see another stellar day with mostly sunny conditions giving way to some partial afternoon clouds. Highs will once again top out in the upper 70s. While a stray late-afternoon shower or some virga is possible as a weak upper-level feature passes, it will not be a concern for the vast majority of the area.

We will have to wait until midweek for our next real chance of rain. A weak system arriving Wednesday evening will bring scattered, light showers, though overall rainfall amounts are expected to remain minor.
