Showers may hinder fireworks this weekend

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) -Good morning and happy Friday!

Central Illinois stays hot and humid today with highs in the low 90s and heat index in the low 100s. We start sunny, then clouds build this afternoon; a few isolated showers/storms are possible late afternoon into evening. Rain and storms become more likely overnight, then lingering showers early tomorrow morning taper off into a mix of sun and clouds.

Highs are once again in the low 90s, and isolated storms may redevelop by late afternoon/evening. For fireworks, the main concern is the chance of a storm: the best shot is early evening if storms stay isolated, but storm chances can ramp back up later—check radar and have a backup plan; haze/thicker clouds may also reduce visibility.
