DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Monday! Clouds have hung around for most of the morning as temperatures have warmed up into the upper 20s and low 30s across the region. The clouds should break slightly this afternoon, and we should see some spotty sunshine to close out the day.
Cloud cover will return overnight, but snow chances have decreased for the early morning drive on Tuesday. The models have pushed the snow further south and east, and it looks like areas north of I-70 will likely see only a few flakes at best. Areas along I-70 could have a dusting to a tenth of an inch of snow, but it shouldn’t cause any problems for the morning drive.
Temperatures for the rest of the week look mild, but stay below average through Thursday. It will be slightly warmer on Friday, with highs back in the upper 30s and low 40s. Wind chills will still be rough on Friday, so the warmer temperatures won’t feel great.
