DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - It almost felt like the start of summer earlier Friday! Alas, it will not last. While temperatures will remain above average, a cold front arrives during the wee hours of Saturday morning. Ahead of the front, conditions are such that thunderstorms will develop, some heavy to severe. So, before bed, it's best to have a way to wake you up in case there is a severe storm approaching. The big question overnight in terms of severe weather is whether or not the massive storms developing over our western neighbor states can maintain their intensity. That is not a slam dunk as severe weather parameters will be lessening the farther east you go. Nonetheless, it is best to be prepared for the worst.Â
