Sunny, breezy, & cooler weekend

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Good morning and happy Saturday! Overnight showers are drying out to make way for a sunny and breezy weekend, but changes are on the horizon for next week.

Any lingering showers from overnight are quickly clearing out today. As high pressure builds back in, we can expect a sunny and breezy afternoon. High temperatures will remain very comfortable, topping out in the low 80s.

Under mostly clear skies tonight, overnight lows will drop into the upper 50s. While daytime heating could trigger a stray shower early this evening, dry air in place will limit this possibility for almost everyone, keeping the vast majority of the region dry.

Sunday will start off with plenty of sunshine, though a few clouds will filter in by the afternoon. Highs will be slightly cooler, settling in the upper 70s behind a passing cool front. Looking ahead, a weak system brings a chance for a few showers Monday evening, but our next widespread rain chance holds off until the latter half of the workweek.
