(WAND) - A very warm week is in the forecast across central Illinois.

After a great weekend, a warming trend will continue through most of the upcoming week.

Abundant sunshine is expected today through Thursday.  Highs the next three days will be around the 70-degree mark with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.

Friday will be the warmest day of the upcoming week with record or near record highs around 80°.  It'll also be very windy Friday and Saturday with gusts topping 40 mph.
 
Severe storms are possible Friday evening into Friday night.
 
It turns cooler this weekend with 60s Saturday and low-50s Sunday.
