DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur man was arrested Friday for possessing several pictures and videos of child pornography, according to a sworn statement.
The sworn said that 46-year-old Michael J. Black was arrested by Illinois State Police after an investigation led to police finding several child porn downloads from Black's IP address.
ISP executed a search warrant at Black's home, seizing several electronic devices and arresting him on 14 child pornography charges.
According to the sworn, Black eventually admitted to police that he had downloaded child porn "approximately 50 times."
The seized electronic devices were examined by digital forensics analysts from the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. The sworn said analysts were able to match up 275 of the files contained in the child pornography download to files on Black's laptop.
Black was denied pretrial release. His preliminary hearing is set for March 11.
