CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) - The Chatham Fire Department has issued a burn ban for the Village of Chatham.
The ban will be in effect from 8 a.m. September 12 for 14 days unless canceled earlier.
The ban is the direct result of the ongoing drought like conditions.
Any fires started during this time can spread quickly and become out of control.
The ban includes the burning of residential yard waste and open burning of agricultural waste. The ban does not apply to charcoal or gas grills used for cooking.
