ARCOLA, Ill. (WAND) - Celebrate the nation's 250th birthday with an American treasure.
The inaugural Ben Franklin Fest will take place from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Green Mill Village in Arcola.
The event will feature tethered hot air balloon rides, a foam dance party, Lawn Ranger Boot Camp led by the Arcola Lawn Rangers, food trucks and, of course, a visit from Ben Franklin.
Hot air balloon rides will happen from 6-8 p.m., and will be first come, first served, if the weather cooperates.
Big Al's Shake-Ups will also be on hand as they attempt to set the record for most lemon shake-ups sold during a festival.
