City of Decatur Flood Watch

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — With heavy rainfall expected across central Illinois, the city of Decatur wants residents to be aware of flood conditions while traveling.

In a Facebook post, the city noted that drainage issues can lead to clogged drains and temporary flooding, especially at underpasses.

Drivers should never enter a flooded area or drive around barricades.

The city said that public works and emergency personnel will work quickly should conditions arrive, but drivers should stay cautious.

With saturated ground from recent storms, the expected 2.5 inches forecasted for most of the community could lead to flooding.
