DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Celebrating Black History Month in the Soy City.
The African-American Cultural & Genealogical Society of Illinois Museum (AACGSM) announced its 2026 Black History Month events, with the theme, "A Century of Black History Commemorations."
A Black History Poetry Program & Valentine Love Tribute will take place from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the museum near Downtown Decatur. The program will feature poetry of poetry, music and Black art from local artists and cultural contributors.Â
The Carter G. Woodson basketball tournament will happen from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Boys & Girls Club of Decatur. Full details will be released at a later time.Â
