DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC) hosted a celebration to commemorate 25 years on Saturday.
The event offered the community a chance to enjoy activities like rock climbing and laser tag for free.
"We want to show and recognize those members that have been here for so long, but also show people that we are growing and we're developing and adding things that hopefully the community wants to get involved in," said DISC Manager Colin Bonner.
The center offers several amenities including a rock climbing wall, a variety of fitness equipment and a new H.I.I.T. room.
13-year-old Maycie Hettinger said the center is just as important for kids as it is for the rest of the Decatur community.
"There's not much to do in Decatur, so it's nice to get out of the house once in a while to go do something with your family and friends where you don't have to worry about anything else," Hettinger said. "Kind of like an escape."
More information on the center's hours and membership options can be found on the Decatur DISC website.
