DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County announced the purchase of a building for a future spay/neuter clinic Wednesday.
The newly purchased building is located at 3411 N. Woodford St., in an effort for the HSDMC to reduce pet overpopulation and euthanasia.
The facility will provide "Spay Day" surgeries for low income pet owners and increase the HSDMC's Trap-Neuter-Return program.
The HSDMC said in a press release that it hopes to have two "Spay Days" a month within the next few months, while increasing the number of surgeries as permitted by the funds, staff and volunteers.
