SMTD Transfer Center customer service to close for repairs

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Sangamon Mass Transit District will temporarily close the customer service window and indoor public space at the Transfer Center at The HUB. 

The closure will start Friday morning, Aug. 15, and continue through the weekend and Monday, Aug. 18. 

The closure is necessary for repairs to be made to the air conditioning system. The repairs will require the AC to be shut down. Repairs should be done by early next week. 

Bus service will continue uninterrupted at the Transfer Center. Ticket Vending Machines will stay in operation, and online and smartphone app ticket sales will still be available. 

Anyone needing in-person customer service can use the customer service window at SMTD offices at 928 South 9th St. from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
