SULLIVAN, Ill. (WAND) - One local event aims to raise money for a good cause, while spreading awareness of a debilitating disease.Â
The Toy Bar's Allwheels Run for ALS will start at noon Saturday at the Toy Bar in Sullivan.Â
Sign-up will occur from 10-11:45 a.m. at the Toy Bar.Â
All proceeds will be donated to local hospice nurse Trevor Storm, who is raising money to run the Chicago Marathon and spread awareness for ALS.Â
Storm was inspired by his patient and friend Greg Dirks to participate in the marathon.
Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite baseball team's gear, as Dirk's favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals.Â
For those unable to make the run, they can meet at the Toy Bar for a meal provided by Sullivan, IL AMBUCS, and listen to live music performed by Holy Hand Grenades.Â
Those interested can donate to Storm's cause here.Â
