Walking for an important cause: Walk to End Alzheimer's returns to Decatur

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - This weekend, Decatur residents have a chance to support an important cause, and all they have to do is walk.

The Decatur Walk to End Alzheimer's will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Fairview Park.

Registration/check-in is set for 8 a.m., with a Promise Garden ceremony at 9 a.m.

There will be a fun zone featuring games and pumpkin decorating, a pet area, a selfie station, Legends of Cosplay superheroes, a Tribute Wall to honor loved ones and a Team Tailgate Area, with doughnuts, coffee, popcorn and hot dogs, according to event contact Amber Bowcott's Facebook page.
