SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - One man is dead, and another person was injured in a shooting in Springfield Thursday night.
Springfield police said officers were called to the 1600 block of E. Edwards St. for multiple shots fired. Officers found a car nearby with two people inside who had been shot.
The Sangamon County Coroner said a 20-year-old Springfield man, later identified as Barrion Sanders, was also taken to the hospital and he died just after arriving.
The coroner stated that an autopsy found Sanders died after being shot multiple times.
A woman was also rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
