URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - One person was hospitalized after a shooting in Urbana Thursday.Â
The Champaign County Sheriff's office reports two teenagers were detained after a shooting in a neighborhood near Frasca Field.Â
Police were called around 4 p.m. and told three vehicles had followed each other to the 200 block of Apple Tree Dr. before shooting at one another.Â
Deputies found a 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.Â
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle they believed to be involved in the parking lot of Blaine's Farm and Fleet on North Cunningham in Urbana.Â
Two suspects were taken into custody, a 16-year-old and 19-year-old Erick Estrada.Â
Estrada was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is in custody at the Champaign County Correctional Center.
Estrada was arraigned in court on Friday afternoon where he was denied pretrial release. He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and mob violence. He'll be back in court on Monday.
The 16-year-old was released into the custody of his parents.Â
All people charged with crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
