COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A Mattoon man is dead following injuries sustained in a vehicle crash.Â
The Coles County Sheriff's Department said Thursday evening that deputies responded to a traffic crash shortly after 11 p.m. July 23Â on Old State Road near County Road 400 East.
Deputies at the scene reported that a Ford SUV traveling east on Old State Road collided with a man on a mini bike.Â
The driver of the mini bike was identified as Earon Criswell, 35, of Mattoon.Â
Criswell was later airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana and died from the injuries sustained in the crash July 25.Â
The Sheriff's Department identified Lucas Grzelak, 22, of Mattoon, as the SUV driver.Â
The crash remains under investigation.Â
