SPRINDGIELD, Ill. (WAND) — For those who miss the days of walking into a Scholastic Book Fair, Trish and Mary’s Public House is hosting an Adult Book Fair on Saturday, Jan. 25th to bring back that old childhood joy.
The fair is taking place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vinegar Hill Mall in Springfield inside of Trish and Mary’s event space.
Kristi Miller, the creative director for Conn's Hospitality Group, said shes happy to bring back an event that many adults loved when they were kids.
"We have Lincoln Library who will be here doing a pop-up library so you can get a library card ... And then we have Books on the Square, and Sly Fox Bookstore will be here selling books. And we will have about 11 local authors that will also be here selling and signing their books," explained Miller.
The event will also be selling bookmarks and stickers. The proceeds will go to a good cause — the children!
"We also have some bookmarks and stickers made in kind of 90's era version of some of our Conn Hospitality Properties ... We will be selling those. And then from those proceeds, we are going to donate to a local school to help kids buy books," said Miller.
