BOONE, IA. (WAND) — Artificial Intelligence also known as "AI" continues to gain traction.

Tuesday, the company "Solinftec" unveiled their autonomous robot platform, named "Alice" at the Farm Progress Show.

Project leaders tell WAND News that Alice will be able to be used for target spraying.

That means, it will be more affective than traditional spraying.

"Proving that AI, giving all sorts of information and helping us learn. And then how do we keep making this even more valuable for those growers and retailers that have them. So, as far as scouting information, things like that, how can we start giving them actionable insights as we're going throughout the field several times throughout the season." said Project Coordinator Larissa Cornilsen.

Cornilsen said, with target spraying, it will reduce the amount of chemicals used.

"Sustainability is a huge thing going on right now. How do we reduce chemicals? How do we start reducing our environmental impact? But, also we understand that retailers are having a really hard time finding people to work. This thing's fully autonomous. You drop it off, it does the work for you."

Right now, "Alice" is being used on row crops.
