FLORA, Ill. (WAND) - A Celebration of Life is being held for the son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren of Darren Bailey who were killed in a helicopter crash in Montana.Â
The crash happened Oct. 22. Bailey's son, Zachary, his wife, Kelsey, and their two young children, Vada Rose, 12, and Samuel, 7, died in the crash in a remote area of eastern Montana, his campaign said in a statement. The couple's third child was not on the helicopter.
Darren Bailey is a former state lawmaker. He lost the 2022 gubernatorial election in Illinois and is seeking his party’s nomination again in next year’s race. Bailey previously served in both the Illinois House and Senate.
A Celebration of Life is being held Monday at 9 a.m. at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora, Illinois. The service will include readings, worship music, a dance performance, and personal remarks.Â
