DANVILLE - Criminal charges are dropped against a Danville man, accused of forging prescriptions. 47 year-old Michael Wagner was accused of signing the name of another doctor and gave out a prescription in his name.

Prosecutors could not prove Wagner who is a physician’s assistant intended to defraud anyone.

Dr. Dennis Silver said there could have been a misunderstanding between them and doesn't believe Wagner was trying to abuse his authority.

The 2-year investigation ended when the charges were dropped.

Wagner continues to work at central Illinois family practice, in Danville.
