SPRINGFIELD - The Sangamon County Highway Department has announced that portions of County Highway 43, also known as East Lake Drive, will experience extended daytime lane closures beginning on May 9.
Officials say the closures are due to construction activities on County Highway 43, and that the lane closures will end in mid-July, weather permitting. During this time, traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by workers carrying signs.
Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes if possible, and to use caution when in and around the work zone. For more information, call the Sangamon County Highway Department at (217) 535-3070.
