DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A man who was killed after police said he broke into a woman's home and was shot by someone in her family has been identified.

The Macon County Coroner said the man was identified as 35-year-old Anthony P. Beckley of Decatur. Beckley was shot four times, the coroner said. He died at the hospital.

According to Decatur Police Department Spokesman Lt. Scott Rosenbery, Decatur officers arrived in the 2000 block of E. Damon Ave. at 7:38 p.m. Monday night. Police said they found Beckley and a 66-year-old woman who had been shot. The woman's injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.

Police said the man broke into the woman's home and a family member of the woman showed up and shot the suspect several times. Officers did not say how the woman was shot.

Police said Beckley didn't belong at the home, but it's unclear if he knew the woman. Police also said he was currently on "mandatory supervised release" by the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The family member who shot the suspect had a valid license to carry a gun.

Decatur police and the Macon County State's Attorney are investigating.
