SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Springfield Fire Department was called out for a fire in a decommissioned City Water, Light & Power stack Tuesday morning.Â
Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37 posted to Facebook the fire was contained to the smoke stack, and there are no exposure concerns.Â
The stack is located at 3100 Stevenson Drive. Smoke and flames were visible from the structure.Â
CWLP sent WAND News a statement saying, "The fire was isolated to decommissioned scrubber for retired Dallman Units 31 and 32 where a contractor was working this morning. There were no injuries among CWLP employees or the contractor. There was no impact on any equipment or facilities for Dallman Unit 4 by this fire."Â
