DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Danville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a 2024 double homicide.

Police said Mario J. Scaife, 18, of Danville, was arrested July 3 on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

According to Danville police, officers responded Nov. 27, 2024, to a shooting investigation in the 1900 block of East Main Street.

The shooting claimed the lives of 33-year-old Keith G. Stone, of Danville, and a 17-year-old juvenile. A third victim was injured but has since been released from the hospital, police said.

Illinois State Police assisted the Danville Police Department with processing the crime scene and collecting evidence.

Police said the case remains an active investigation.
