FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) - Five men, including a Decatur Public Schools employee, are facing charges after being arrested during an Illinois State Police sting operation.

Illinois State Police arrested Thad Olson, Robert Danbury, David Martin, Benito Rojas-Martinez and Luke Nguyen on Aug. 21 and 22. According to sworn statements of their arrests, they thought they were setting up a meeting with underage girls.

All five men were met with an Illinois State Police SWAT team and face charges related to child solicitation.

According to sworn statements, some of the suspects offered money to pay for sexual services.

Nguyen told police that he would pay $80 for a sexual act "without a condom," and sent a photo of his genitalia to an undercover agent after posing as a 16-year-old girl after stating her age.

The sworn said that Nguyen showed ISP agents his phone containing ChatGPT search history, where he asked what the legal age of consent was.

Danbury told police that he would provide $500 for an "overnight" of sexual service with the undercover agent.

The sworn also said Danbury admitted to police that he bought condoms and would have performed "sexual acts" on the victim if opportunities "presented themselves."

DPS sent the following statement Aug. 26 in response to WAND News asking the district about Olson's arrest:

"The district is aware of the recent arrest of an employee. In accordance with the court’s order, this individual is prohibited from having contact with anyone under the age of 18, and we will strictly enforce this requirement to protect our students. The safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority. Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, we are unable to share additional details."

DPS did not provide specifics on the employee to WAND, and did not say whether Olson has been suspended or reassigned to a position away from students.
