DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A Decatur man was arrested on child pornography charges on Tuesday.

According to a sworn statement Kevin Horve was arrested after an investigation into a cybertip from Microsoft in February. The tip said several explicit images depicting girls under the age of 13 were uploaded to the OneDrive cloud.

After further investigation, the images were traced back to an IP address that was registered to Comcast and geolocated to Decatur.

Comcast responded to a subpoena confirming the reported subscriber was Horve.

On Tuesday, a search warrant was executed to seize and analyze all electronic devices at Horve's home in the 300 block of Greenhill St. in Decatur.

During a mirandized interview, Horve explained he previously experimented with using generative artificial intelligence programs to generate images of celebrities.

He elaborated that he was using the program for several months when he received an alert from Microsoft stating the content he created depicted people that were too young.

Horve was asked if the images were sexual images, to which he responded "well yeah, obviously" and explained he was trying to recreate images of celebrities.

Horve was charged with 3 counts of child pornography. He appeared Wednesday in front of a Macon County judge and denied pre-trial release.

His next hearing is scheduled for June 18.
