SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A man has been arrested after police found a woman's body inside a garbage bin Tuesday afternoon.
The Springfield Police Department arrested Adam Corbin for the concealment of a death and abuse of a corpse.Â
SPD did a welfare check for 65-year-old Nancy Corbin around 4 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the 1100 block of North 11th Street after she had not been seen for an extended period.
According to the Sangamon County Coroner, Nancy Corbin's remains were recovered from a garbage bin inside a shed on the property.
According to the coroner, the remains were badly decomposed and scientifically identified Thursday during an autopsy. The cause of death is pending additional studies.
This investigation is ongoing.Â
