WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A Rantoul man was sentenced to a total of 200 years behind bars for child pornography charges in multiple counties.Â
On November 27, 2024, the Fairbury (Illinois) Police Department and El Paso (Illinois) Police Department finished an ongoing investigation involving sexual crimes against children.Â
Garrett Moore, 24, of Rantoul, was taken into custody at an establishment in Rantoul. Moore was in contact with multiple minors and made arrangements to meet children for sexual purposes.Â
Moore sent multiple videos depicting child pornography with the victims ranging in age from 3 years old to 13 years old.Â
The Fairbury Police Department and El Paso Police Department, being members of C.H.A.O.S. Task Force, apprehended Moore in Rantoul.Â
Rantoul Police, Champaign County Sheriff's Office, Illinois Attorney Generals ICAC Task Force, Livingston County States Attorneys Office and Woodford County Sheriff's Department all assisted.Â
He was charged with 9 counts of dissemination of child pornography and indecent solicitation of a child in Livingston County.Â
He was charged with 20 counts of dissemination of child pornography in Woodford County.Â
On Feb. 18, 2026, a sentencing hearing was held in Woodford County. Moore had previously plead guilty to 15 counts of distributing child pornography. It was recommended that he serve a sentenced of 120 years.Â
After hearing evidence, a judge sentenced him to 7 years per count, which is required to be served consecutively, and will result in 105 years in prison.Â
Due to the sentencing laws in Illinois, this will be served at 50 percent.Â
However, it is consecutive to a total 95-year sentence Moore received for his Livingston County charges.Â
