SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A Springfield man was sentenced to 17 years in prison for child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office Central District of Illinois, 29-year-old Peyton Dagenais was sentenced June 11 for distributing and possessing child pornography.
The attorney's office stated that it found Dagenais had a long history of possessing child pornography and a desire to rape a child.
Dagenais was initially arrested in September 2025 and pleaded guilty to his charges in February.
He remains in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
