JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — On Sunday, December 8, the Jacksonville, Morgan County Office of Emergency Management closed Morton Avenue for a while due to a dangerous fire on the Jacksonville Developmental Center grounds.
In a Facebook post, the agency said firefighters were actively putting out a fire at the JDC Grounds. They asked residents to avoid Morton Avenue until about 1:05 p.m. The area was asked to be avoided due to the danger of using water hoses on the roadway and ongoing emergency responses.
No injuries have been reported.
