DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - God's Shelter of Love in Decatur has asked the community to step in and help collect items for the women and children it serves.

Right now, the emergency shelter is filled. Dan Watkins, Executive Director, told WAND News all 16 beds are filled, and the family room is taken.

"It's all ages," he said. "We have 18-year-olds and honestly when they come in, they are like a deer in headlights. It's like, 'I'm not supposed to be here.'"

God's Shelter of Love serves as the only emergency women's and children's shelter in the city.
