WASHINGTON (WAND) — Senate Democrats will try once again to pass legislation to protect DACA recipients, commonly known as Dreamers. Most Dreamers came to the United States when they were very young and may not even remember their previous country.

During a Senate Judiciary Hearing in Washington, it became clear there is a divide on the issue between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans say there are higher priorities at the border than dealing with the Dreamer issue right now.

Five previous attempts to pass legislation for Dreamers have failed. Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois first introduced the Dream Act more than 20 years ago.
