DEWITT COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Authorities are investigating apparent damage to a grassy area in DeWitt County. 

The DeWitt County Sheriff's Office said state property was damaged near Swisher Hill Road and Parnell Road at the Salt Creek boat ramp. Pictures posted by deputies appeared to show tire markings from a vehicle. 

Anyone who might have information about who is responsible is asked to contact the CPOT Gates at (630)465-7001.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
