CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A driver was airlifted after a crash on Interstate 57 in Champaign County early Friday morning.Â
Illinois State Police said the single-vehicle crash happened on I-57 southbound near County Road 1000 N (milepost 229) at 4:41 a.m.
Troopers said, for unknown reasons, a white van ran rolled over and came to a stop on its roof, on the west shoulder of the interstate, causing damage to the guardrail.
The interstate was temporarily shut down for the medical helicopter that transported the driver to an area hospital with injuries. Â
There is no word yet on the driver's condition.Â
