Decatur, IL - A preliminary report indicates engine failure contributed to last month's plane crash that killed a Decatur doctor and another woman.
A National Transportation Safety Board report supports an investigator's initial findings in the crash that killed Dr. John White and Lisa Marie Mattix. The report says White asked to return to Huntsville International Airport about 13 minutes after takeoff, citing right engine failure.
The plane crashed about 3 miles from the airport and burst into flames.
