SHARPSBURG, IL- A fire in rural Christian County has destroyed a family's home.
The fire broke out just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night at 880 East 1800 North Road near Sharpsburg.
Six fire departments battled the flames and the heat for several hours.
No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported, however firefighters on the scene were checked for heat exhaustion.
