DECATUR - Illinois Department of Transportation officials have announced that Illinois 48, just southwest of Decatur, will be closed to through traffic for construction work beginning July 19.
Officials say the closure will allow for the construction of box culverts. A marked detour will be in place to direct traffic around the work zone. The closure is expected to remain in place for four days, weather permitting, and local traffic will be allowed to access each side of the work site during the project.
