ALTAMONT, Ill. (WAND) — A blown out tire on a vehicle's trailer sparked an caused a brush fire on I-70 near Altamont Saturday afternoon.
The Altamont Fire Department told WAND they responded to a call of three separate fires on the side of I-70 eastbound near milepost 81 just before 1:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found a brush fire on the shoulder caused by sparks after a trailer tire had blown out.
The fire department said crews took care of the fire and nobody was injured.
