DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Fire Department came away victorious following the 2025 Guns & Hoses bell ringing competition. 

The Salvation Army said the department collected $3,387.46 during the two-day event. 

First responders from the Macon County Sheriff's Office, Decatur Police Department, Decatur Fire Department and Macon County Fire Department braved the brutal cold Dec. 12 and 13. 

DPD finished in second place with $1,834.96 raised, followed by Macon County Sheriff's Office with $1,000.19 and the Macon County Fire Department with $132. 

The event has raised over $200,000 to support the Salvation Army since its start in 2011, according to the organization.
