DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — An investigation is underway after a vacant home caught fire in north Decatur Wednesday.

The Decatur Fire Department responded to a home in the 1000 block of North Church Street just after 2 p.m.

Firefighters saw a heavy fire coming from the rear bedroom. According to DFD, the fire was quickly brought under control and nobody was found in or around the residence.

The Decatur Fire Department Fire Investigation Bureau is still investigating how the fire started.
